Roads in Belarus are generally of a decent quality, though potholes and uncovered manholes are not uncommon. Speed limits must be strictly adhered to and radar traps are widespread – a lot of which unmarked. Driving at night or in the winter is not recommended, as road conditions do not lend themselves to an enjoyable experience. Drivers should stay away from military establishments at all times, to avoid any unnecessary misunderstandings. Public transport in the country is of a good standard, with regular bus and reliable state taxi services covering the country, as well as a metro system, trams and trolleybuses in Minsk. Belarusian rail travel is well implemented, though nothing amazing. Services operate out of Minsk to all major towns and cities, and modern, well equipped cars are available. Instances of theft on sleeper carriages do occur, so precautions should be taken. There are no internal flight services in Belarus.
